Conformal antenna is one of the most concerned development directions in antenna technology due to its excellent electromagnetic performance. In early studies, conformal antenna and array are studied without considering the influence of carrier. With the development of technology, a growing number of new dielectric materials are applied to kinds of carrier platforms. In recent years, conformal antennas on metal carrier is under study. In this thesis, attention is concentrated on the analytic method of conformal microstrip antennas on dielectric carrier. In lower radar frequency band such as L, S, C band, the thickness of commonly used dielectric carrier is far less than wavelength in dielectric. A method called PEC-TDS surface integral equation is used to analyze conformal microstrip antenna manufacture on thin dielectric substrate.Firstly, major analytic methods of conformal microstrip antennas are summarized; the advantage and disadvantage of the existing methods are compared; the basis of using PEC-TDS method to analyze conformal microstrip antenna manufactured on thin dielectric substrate is introduced.Secondly, the basic principles of PEC-TDS surface integral equation are introduced; TDS surface integral equations of several thin dielectric models are given; full current PEC-TDS surface integral equation is obtained by combine thin dielectric with metal.Thirdly, the use of PEC-TDS surface integral equation in the study of conformal microstrip antenna on dielectric carrier is discussed. CRWG base function defined on curved surface triangle is used for the conforming capability of arbitrary geometrical shapes, and the singularity in numerical integral of CRWG base function is dealt with Duffy transform At last, source model was introduced. Microstrip and probe feed model is constructed by delta-voltage-gap source, and good results is got.Fourthly, PEC-TDS surface integral equation is applied to the analysis of conformal microstrip antennas on dielectric carrier. The effect of dielectric carrier on antenna impedance and radiation characteristics is discussed.
