With the development of calculation simulation technology and computer technology, visualization technology can provide new means for helping experts of various fields observe and analyze the geological phenomenon and spatial distributing in 3D space. The application can also help them comprehensive understand the changes in data and make an exact judgment and decision. The visualization and real-time rendering of three-dimension (3D) surface have become one hotspot issues in computer simulation, virtual reality, scientific computing and other associated fields. In this paper, the current situation of three-dimensional visualization and real-time rendering technology are discussed based on some advanced theoretical and technological achievements of computer graphics, computer geometry, scientific computation visualization, and virtual reality. Discussion and research are made around three-dimensional visualization and real-time interaction technology, which based on subdivision surface. First of all, to achieve the purpose of interactive real-time modeling, by the introduction of theories of subdivision surface modeling techniques and surface reconstruction, an interactive visual modeling flow operation is designed. At the same time, at the basis of improving two correlation algorithms of modeling techniques and combine the related class of C + + Standard Template Library, a data structure based on half of the storage structure is brought forward and an interactive modeling theory and methods of reconstruction after subdivision are set up ,witch based on such a storage structure. Finally, through a subdivision modeling experimental procedures and an experiment of interactive surface modeling based on the mouse event, proved that the improved modeling techniques can achieve real-time interaction modeling. This theory was applied to the study of"Inversion modeling of gravity and magnetic anomaly interpretation system". And the application achieved relative good results in three-dimensional modeling.
