Repetitive pulse power technology plays an important role not only in the field of military, such as nuclear fusion, high-power laser, high-power microwaves, electron beam (ion beam) accelerator, but also in some civilian areas ,such as flue gas treatment in the environment, pulse discharge plasma FGD .A diagnostic system for the repetitive pulse power source, which supplies the driver power for a high power microwave source, has been designed by studying the high-voltage, high current testing technology, data acquisition, signal processing, fault diagnosis, virtual instruments and electromagnetic compatibility technology, etc. This project can realize functions of on-line monitoring and data analysis for the repetitive pulse power source. It has the versatility and practicability in the field of diagnostics for repetitive pulse power, and it is also useful for industrialization application of repetitive pulse power.The solution to the system of data acquisition and fault diagnosis on repetitive pulse is put forward in the paper. It contends not only the design of measurement and data acquisition, but also the structural design and program for data transmission, condition monitoring and data analysis. A resistance-capacitive divider and a Rogowski coil is used in the project; the ADLINK Corporation's PXI clips are used in data acquisition; data transmission system, condition monitoring and data analysis are developed by LabVIEW. The on-line monitoring diagnosis system has already been developed into one which has the independent property right of knowledge. The on-line monitoring system has already been installed and debugged for more than half a year in the plant. It has be running normally. It has been proved that the system operates conveniently, runs reliably and has an applied value.In the first chapter, the process of repetitive pulse power technology and the diagnostic technology both inside and outside China has been introduced, and the bases and significance of this project has been analyzed. In the second chapter, a summary about test methods and data collection means, which are now commonly used, is given. According to characteristics of voltage and current which need to test, the testing methods in this system were determined by theoretical analysis and software simulation.
