The digital mine (DM) comprehensive communication controller, supporting the production-level scheduling and disaster relief communication for the mine enterprises, is the key equipment for the DM communication platform. With the scale as well as the quantity of DM comprehensive communication continuously increasing, the networks' complexity increase accordingly, which leads to the lower and lower reliability, more cost of the maintenance and service.The Built-in Test (BIT) means that the main component can fulfill the job of checking functionality, detecting and isolating the fault as well as testing the system's performance without any external facilities. The Application the BIT for the DM comprehensive controller will obviously increase its test and troubleshooting ability, shorten the maintenance time and improve the reliability.Firstly, the design framework, the function and the application of the DM comprehensive communication controller are presented in the paper. Combined with the BIT test theory and, design techniques as well as the circuit characteristic of the DM comprehensive communication controller, the fault mode of the wireless AP module, the electro-optical exchange module, the radio frequency localization module, the electrical management module, and electro-optical compound cable are established in modular way respectively.Then, The general design thought of the DM comprehensive communication is elaborated. The working modes of the BIT installment and its usage are presented in this paper. The analyses of fault characteristic, and the design techniques of BIT, the BIT methods of the internal modules of the DM comprehensive controller are designed separately.Finally, the software and hardware schemes of the BIT installment of the DM comprehensive controller are presented, and the design of the BIT test points and the signal recuperation electric circuit, the microprocessor, the Ethernet communication circuit, the power circuit and the human-machine interaction electrical circuit are implemented. The BIT installment's software main flowchart of the DM comprehensive communication controller is designed, and BIT program of the DC-DC converter of the power management electrical circuit is token as an example to design the various modules' BIT software flow chart. The final product of the DM comprehensive communication controller, integrated with a BIT installment, is designed. The practical application indicates that the equipment has good test and failure diagnosis ability.
