UML (Unified Modeling Language) is a well-defined, easily expressed, powerful and universally applicable visual modeling language. It has embedded in the new ideas, new methods and new technologies of the software engineering field It is not only restricted to the support of object oriented analysis and design, but also supports the whole process of software development that begins with requirement analysis. In the analysis phase, UML plays the role of using a lot of charts to fully describe the system to be developed from the static and dynamic perspectives.Nowadays, more and more importance from the society and families has been attached to vocational education. As vocational education is characterized with development of hands-on abilities, it is extremely significant to employ the Experiment and Training mode. Such a mode is even more critical in running vocational schools successfully and winning the social recognition. With the rapid development of information technology, the teaching information management of advanced vocational institutions is heading towards standardization and diversification. Against such a backdrop, the Experiment and Training Mode comes into being. The paper, based on the research into the Experiment and Training System of the Vocational Institutes, employs the current frequently-used NET technology, UML modeling techniques, C# programming and database design technology to realize the formation of Experiment and Training Management System of Vocational Institutes. UML Use-case view is employed to analyze system requirements; sequence diagram of the basic behavior modeling is employed to illustrate the system architecture design; UML component diagram is used to illustrate the realization of the system. The development of the system contains two aspects:the user interface of front-end application; development and maintenance of backstage database. The entire system adopts B/S structure, developed by using SQL Server2000 database, UML modeling techniques, ASP.NET technology and C# programming language. As for the user interface of front-end application, UML logical views, dynamic views, and behavior modeling will be employed to describe it. With regard to the backstage database, it is essential to establish a database with strong integrity and security conforming to data. The B/S structure, SQL Server2000 database, UML modeling techniques, ASP.NET technology, and C#programming language will be employed to develop the system. The value of this system can be summarized into four points:1.It deepens the understanding of UML. By designing systems via UML modeling, it realizes the standardization of methods, effectively promotes design and development of software, the mutual understanding and communication among testing personnel, and facilitates the improvement and application of the system.2. It improves the management level and decision support environment. It can accurately make a dynamic analysis on the supply and demand of Experiment and Training resources in time so as to timely satisfy the needs of the teaching and research and provide excellent services to teaching and research.3. It can increase efficiency and realize the rational use of resources. By employing modern means of information instead of the cumbersome manual operation, it is conducive to the sharing of resources, rational management and effective application so that human resources, material resources and time resources can be saved. 4. It can optimize the management of Experimental and Training, make it easy to assess and realize the quantification, standardization, normalization, and scientization.
