Modernized port must first realize informationization, thus, what makes Dalian Port become International Freight Port is developing Digital Dalian Port. Since 1980, PDA Corporation has strengthened modern management in every direction. During the past three decades, PDA Corporation not only built its local area network, but also developed some information systems, which consisted of Productive Management System, Group Financial System and so on. As the result of Dalian Port Information Management System deployment, Dalian Port gained significant improvements in terms of efficiency and profitability. However, there are still a lot to do for accomplishing the goal of Digital Dalian Port.Based on the specific practices in PDA Corporation, this study will carry out a research on the Informatization Construction of general statistics management. Firstly, this paper will identify the information status of the corporation. Secondly, a detailed analysis on the demands of general statistics system will be given from different aspects, including corporation strategy, senior management decision-making, business control, external services and market development, business operations and so on. Lastly, based on the successful experiences of domestic and overseas statistics information management, combining the fundamentals and demands of the corporation, and using advanced information technology, this paper will put forward a design solution on general statistics management system of the corporation. Detailed designs on functional structure, runtime platform, database and hardware and software environment follow the preliminary design. The solution will lay the root for future informatization construction and research.At present, general statistics system in PDA Corporation is constructed orderly, and staged work has been finished. Developed functions run well, and meet the needs of general statistics management.
