As one of key technologies of the next generation of Internet, the Peer-to-Peer networks are receiving increasing attention. Peers in P2P networks are on equal status, and access to services while providing resources, which are different from traditional centralized networks. However, for the essential characteristics of P2P networks, such as openness, anonymity and decentralization, they suffer more security threats than the conventional networks. Trust mechanism is the key to building safe and healthy network environment. After analysis of the existing trust models, the new solution is proposed to solve the problem of lacking of trust in P2P networks. To solve the problem of a variety of malicious behaviors in P2P networks, a novel trust model based on group is proposed. According to grouping strategy, a node belongs to a particular group, the whole network is divided into several groups. Peers in the group have the high similarity of certain resources, and interact more frequently compared with nodes between groups. There are direct trust, in-group trust and inter-group trust in P2P networks based on grouping structure, and trust information is accessed with a distributed method to improve security of the model. In order to boost reliability of trust mechanism, the global trust degree of peer is computed by using direct trust degree, group trust degree, trust degree between groups, feedback credibility factor and mutiple control factors.A file-sharing system with the model based on group trust is designed on the basis of correlation theory. Simulation results show that the proposed trust model has fairly good inhibitory action to malicious acts, and can evidently enhance successful transaction ratio of system and efficiently help peers establish trust relationships in P2P networks.
