| With the large-scale application of computer network technology and multimedia technology, it is necessary for the modern communication technology to integrate with the trend and develop together. However, the traditional optical transmission system SDH (synchronous digital hierarchy) is optimized for the voice communication services. Faced with the rapid growth of IP services, the existing transmission network has been unable to meet the needs of newly-developed multiple services, and thus the broadband metropolitan area network which integrates traditional transmission network with IP network has became a new approach for further development. The metropolitan area network is supposed to carry simultaneous transmission of voice, video and data services, and in order to meet the needs of ever-changing services, the construction of metropolitan area network should adopt the most cost-effective network structure and networking technology by fully taking into account the characteristics of specific services, needs of access subscribers, the conditions of network facilities and distribution environment. In succession to the existing SDH network investment, the standard of MSTP (Multi-Service Transport Platform) has made clear the future direction of the evolution of optical network, and is able to carry a variety of services at current stage to meet different service needs of subscribers. The technology can smoothly upgrade and improve the existing SDH network, and entirely meet the needs of data services over the next few years, thus reducing the cost of network construction, operation and maintenance.The thesis discusses the necessity of developing metropolitan area network, and by contrasting several mainstream techniques adopted for the construction of metropolitan area network, it proposes to adopt MSTP technology to build up metropolitan area transmission network. The concept of MSTP technology along with its evolution process is first introduced. Then the key techniques, such as ethernet mapping based on SDH, clock synchronization, intelligent cross connect and data encapsulation are separately discussed with in-depth theoretical analysis. Afterward, starting from the analysis of characteristics of MSTP equipment and networking type, and taking into account the demands and characteristics of Zhu Madian mobile metropolitan area transmission network, it works out a specific program for the construction of Zhu Madian metropolitan area network. Through the analysis of typical services applied in Zhu Madian MSTP, including equipment installation, upgrade and testing of MSTP, it elaborates on the advantages of building up metropolitan area network by utilizing MSTP technology. Finally, the application of MSTP technology into Zhu Madian mobile metropolitan area network proves that this technology can be widely applied in the construction of current metropolitan area network. |
