With the rapid development of computer science and network technology, the function of education is further propelled in such directions as follows : the independence and creativity of students, the interchange and individualization of teachers and students as well as the convenience of knowledge acquisition. Then, it makes requirement analysis based on development background, and conducts detailed research on key modules and techniques. As we all know, algorithm for test generation constitutes the core of test system. This paper points out that the individuals derived from traditional binary chromosome coding mode may affect the efficiency of the algorithm owing to their poor information-carrying capacity, and thus puts forward a sectional scheme that connects binary and character coding. Operation process is also designed under this scheme. The modified code can carry more test information and ensures direct reference of chapter no. and scores. In addition to such expediency, the quantity of questions and types of generated test paper can meet the basic needs of users, with fewer error terms and higher efficiency and resilience of initial solutions. At last, online test system is developed on .NET platform. It's proved that this system can well be applied to the tests.
