In recent years, computer networking has been facilitating the process which the Internet technology is used to develop the data transmission system in the well logging. However, due to the effects of severe environment and the bulk data transmission from imaging logging tools, the well logging transmission system based on networking put forward higher requirement for efficiency of the transmission, the reliability and the universality. This paper applied a kind of embedded Ethernet technology to the well logging transmission system, which make multi-users be able to share well-logging data and improve the ability of the real-time processing of information when logging tool access Internet through Ethernet using network connection with remote hosts .The logging communication terminal not only achieve the ability of the data transmission between logging tools and remote hosts and time synchronization between logging tools and telemetry instruments, but also can work normally under high temperature and high pressure. Based on this target, this paper presented the current tendency about logging technology in detail and explained the Ethernet technology with embedded system. Applying the Ethernet access mothod by 10BASE2, it is proposed that the system architecture is based on the hardware with ARM processor and FPGA.The contents of this thesis are outlined as follows:1.In system architecture, this thesis anlyzed the requirment of this design in detail and proposed a system solution suitable for logging environment.2.In hardware platform, this thesis selected TMS470R1VF processor based on ARM7 and implemented the hardware module design.3.In software platform, this thesis described the process of portingμC/OS-II and LwIP and developed the driver program for networking interface .4.On the module of application layer, this thesis studied and anlyzed the protocol of time synchronization. The data transmission module based on TCP and the time synchronization module based on UDP were accomplished. The implementation of time stamp in FPGA was presented. At last, this thesis gave some results by testing the system. The results shown that this design met the need for well logging communication system .
