Antenna Pattern Design And Implementation Of An Automated Measuring System

The antenna pattern is an important performance parameter of radar,and its measurement is possessed of an extremely important position in radar performance measurement.At present, in most situations, the measurement of antenna pattern is completed with the aid of the precision measuring instruments .These instruments may complete the majority of general functions.But the different consumer often propose the different measure demand . If the equipment with special function is custom-made in the factory then its price is expensive and the applicability is restricted.Accordingly, under normal circumstances, the consumer often make use of the drivers which are provided by the manufacturer to develop the specific function software , using virtual instrument technology, to accomplish computer controlling to measuring instruments , to achieve the automatic survey of the antenna pattern.At present,our duty is to develop a set of automatic antenna pattern measurement system for user.We choose Visual Basic 6.0 as the application software developing environment. This system is running on industrial control computer,takes that Format I/O function of VISA as carrier, through transmits the SCPI instruction to the spectrometer to control the communications between the industrial control computer and two spectrometers.In the process of survey, the system will record the angle of digital dial and magnitude of spectrometer, simultaneously draw the antenna pattern , can realize functions such as document preservation , data browsing, parameter computation, graph processing.The full text altogether divides into six chapters, the primary coverage includes:1. The correlation theories,developing tools and measurement principle are firstly discussed in this paper.2. The further researching is to analyse system function, build the system frame, mark off function module, carry on an investigation in realization method of every module,the detail and some crucial technology.3. Finally, an experiment is operated to verify that this system has owned all function of user demanded and accomplished automatic survey of the antenna pattern.At present, this system already has been put in use , system operation is stable.
