Employee is the key to enterprise development. With the development of economic globalization, the hiring staff is becoming more and more diverse, which makes the employee’s team diversity trend more obvious. First of all, more and more domestic and foreign scholars began to study the effects of diversity on team performance, but there has not been a consistent conclusion. On the one hand, the diversity of organization with comprehensive knowledge, skills,and information resources, is benefit to provide diversified view for group decision; On the other hand, it is difficult for people who have different backgrounds and ideas communicating with each other. Therefore, in the process of interaction, the diversity of employees produces more conflict and makes team cohesion reducing, so as to damage the team performance. In China, small and micro businesses accounted for the vast majority of the total number of enterprises, and most of them are still in the start-up stage. It is benefit for increasing employment, technological innovation, and making important contributions to economic growth. But the initial small micro enterprise, is facing many problems, as much as the employment difficulty, team construction difficulty. Therefore, research on start-up small micro enterprise employee diversity is of great significance.This article explores the team diversity how to effect team performance with a small micro enterprise group as the research object. The conflict level of small micro enterprise is higher than other enterprises. That is why I choose team conflict as an intervening variable in the study. The study found out three issues. Firstly, in the start-up stage, the small and micro enterprise team increase the employees’ education background diversity can make the team task conflict increasing, which is beneficial to the improvement of the team task performance. Secondly,increasing the diversity of professional experience can make team task performance improving.Thirdly, the diversity of ages and values increasing will cause the increase of the conflict level between team members, which results in the decrease of the performance of team emotions.According to the conclusion, this paper makes suggestions for team management. On one hand,they should manage the level of diversity scientifically, such as improving the team members in the diversity of education background and professional experience, keeping the team members balancing in education background and professional experience. On the other hand, they should manage the level of team conflict scientifically. Moderately raise the level of team task conflict,and it is beneficial to the improvement of the team task performance.
