Pension Funds, Socially Responsible Investment Research

With the expansion of the scale of China's pension fund, it becomes a hot topic for thepension fund to conduct its investment effectively so as to achieve sustainable high return,as well as take up the social responsibility, such as the improvement of quality of listedcompany and the efficiency of capital market, promotion of transition of financial structureas well as sustainable development of the whole society.To provide an insight to the above challenge, this thesis conducted researches in thefollowing way. Firstly, analysis is conducted for China's pension system and the currentstatus of China's capital market, which concluded that pension funds could simultaneouslycover financial returns, social returns and environmental returns. Secondly, the conceptof social responsibility investment is introduced and analyzed, and was applied to China'spension fund, which gives an outline of the positive effects of social responsibilityinvestment;Thirdly, investment strategies of social responsibility investment areintroduced and analyzed;in the end, policy suggestions for conducting social responsibilityinvestment were given after an comparative analysis of the western sociality and China forthe background of social responsibility investmentSocial responsibility investment was introduced in the 18th century and developed rapidlyin the recent 30 years, which has proved its functions in financial return, social return andenvironmental return through the investment practices. It is suggested that China's pensionfund should actively pursue the strategies of social responsibility investment, and othergovernment agencies should provide relevant policies to provide a better environment forthe development of social responsibility investment, so that the harmonious and sustainabledevelopment of the sociality can be promoted.
