The market failure and China is placed in the transformation period, making government plays an important role in construct socialism market economy system. Basing on the analysis of government economic function, the paper pointed out that government economic function still exist some problems in the process of change. Because our country is placed in transformation period, so position not only needs to include general functions, but also needs to combine the nation of our country. So, the paper thinks that the government economic function of our country in transformation period includes: make up the market failure; grow and support the market system; maintain the economy stability; moderate the outward economic relation; support the national economy safety. In transformation period, for making government economic function operate better, the government should take some measures, such as reform the government organization; build unify, open and competitive domestic market; weaken the function of micro economic manages to separate government and business; enhance the function of macro-controls; reform the administration examination and approval system; develop and perfect social intermediary organization.
