Copper is an important raw material for national economic development. China's copper demand will significantly increase. Tibet is China's largest copper reserves in the provinces. The Yulong Copper Mine is well-known large porphyry copper deposit in China, first step in the thousand tons of electric copper production in October 2008, the second step project is expected to be completed in 2010 Production. This paper is based on mineral resource potential assessment project in Tibet, by studying geological characteristics and mining conditions of Yulong copper deposit, and comparing Yulong with Dexing porphyry copper deposit which is similar with Yulong in the mining process of the adverse impact on the environment. Then we analysed Yulong copper deposits on the environmental impact of mining and proposed its corresponding control measures.Yulong Copper Mine has exposed strata of Quaternary, Lower Ordovician, Devonian, Carboniferous, and Upper Triassic, Upper Triassic of which is direct rock of Yulong ore-bearing porphyry. In Yulong mining area, magmatic rocks mainly exposed monzogranite porphyry, quartz monzonite porphyry and granodiorite porphyry which diagenetic age was 40.0-57.9Ma. Yulong porphyry copper-molybdenum ore belt is located in the Changdu-Lanping bi-arc foreland basin of the Sanjiang-arc basin system, the central Sanjiang metallogenic belt. Within the mining area there are folds, faults, fractures, breccia zones and fracture zones between layers, etc. Interlayer fracture zone is the main ore-controlling structures. Ore types include: produced in the porphyry rock in the veinlet disseminated Cu-Mo deposit, produced in the contact zone with porphyry and carbonate, and skarn-type copper produced in interlayer fracture zone between carbonate rocks and Jia pila group hornstone along the exocontact of porphyry. This paper studied comparatively with Dexing porphyry copper, and analysed mining conditions of Yulong ore deposits. We found that the Yulong copper mining will pollute, damage water resources, occupation, destruction of land, bring dust pollution, cause geological disasters such as landslides and debris flows. Through the studying, refering to "Survey of the mine geological environment" booked by Zhang Jinde,Zhang Zuochen, Liu Jianwei etc. in 2009,which mention the mine environment evaluation indicators, evaluation methods, grading standards, and ultimately we come to the assessment results that the Yulong copper mining would make More severely impact on the environment. Finally, we collect domestic exploitation of mines in other similar measures taken by the process of governance, and then we propose prevention measures in four areas to protect the water environment, land resources, atmospheric environment, prevention of geological disasters in Yulong copper mine. Yulong mine is located in the plateau, due to the special geographical conditions, ecological problems of its own characteristics: vulnerability, difficult recovery. So in all aspects of the mining process, we should survey clearly in advance the environmental impact of mining, and achieve "prevention first, combining prevention with control".
