The climatic conditions is a major factor in factors which affect the crossings . Fog, snow, rain, lightning, wind, tide, temperature, ice and other inclement weather often leads to the highway to be closed. It brings inconvenience to the travelling residents. It is also indirectly affect the economic development. Natural climatic conditions often affect the life of transportation infrastructure.In this paper, we designed a perfect road weather information system for remote monitoring the highway. It can capture the road surface conditions, visibility, weatherphenomena, precipitation, barometric pressure, high temperature and humidity, wind speed, wind direction and other meteorological parameters of the real-time data. It can send data to the control center. The Roads department can ensure traffic safety and based on these information , it also help them make the road maintenance program as support tools.In this paper, we use a variety of advanced automatic weather station weather sensors for the system. Its controller is AT91SAM9260 ARM processor which is in the industrial level. Its operating system is the embedded Linux . Its embedded database is Sqlite. Its acquisition and control program is the embedded application. It has the functions, such as collection, processing, storage, upload the multi meteorological factors for the highway . It uses the advanced bus acquisition mode to collect meteorological elements . It communicate with the host computer throw high-speed Ethernet which is based on TCP / IP protocol, and it is in wired and wireless (GPRS) ways. Based LabVIEW- development environment, we develop the highway weather information management software, it can achieve a real-time acquisition of meteorological data for more weather stations and manage the weather stations.This system not only can improve the meteorological monitoring department monitoring data and monitoring the professional elements of diversity by monitoring the highway road in the application of the system, and it can greatly improve the traffic management department to deal with unexpected weather conditions ( such as fog, snow, rain, etc. ) decision making accuracy, the implementation of traffic control can provide preprogram data basis.The meteorological monitoring services, and traffic control departments can get effective protection. It will conducive the road traffic to be further safety .
