Due to the extensive application of oil and petroleum products as well as the increase of petroleum reserve around the world, more and more liquid-storage tanks come into service. Liquid substances storaged in oil tank such as liquid hydrocarbon and poisonous carbinol are all volatile, flammable and easy to explode. Besieds, the blast happened in tank farm is usually disastrous. The spherical liquid-storage tank has many advantages such as saving steel, strong bearing capacity,covering less area and so on, and as a result, is commonly used in tank farm. However because of the particularity of explosive blast and the complicated structure of spherical liquid-storage tank, few research regrading the dynamic response of spherical liquid-storage tank subjected to blast loads has been performed so far. Thus launching related research about above-mentioned problem has great practical significance.In this thesis, ANSYS/LS-DYNA -- a kind of finite element analysis software is utilized to model the spherical liquid-storage tank and calculate the structural resp- onse under blast loads. Firstly, the reliability of the computation model is verified by comparing with the existing research results. Then the characteristic of spherical liq- uid-storage tank's response corresponding to different occasions -- the explosion oc- curred inside and outside of the tank respectively -- is obtained. In addition, the infl- uence of some relevant factors on structural response is evaluated in this thesis. This paper primarily investigates the following aspects and reaches some related conclus- ions:1. The calculation of spherical liquid-storage tank's dynamic response under blast loads is fulfilled by employing the modeling function of ANSYS and functions of LS-DYNA such as simulating explosion, fluid structure interaction and so forth. And then the computation model is demostrated to be ralible by comparsion with the existing research results.2. The situation corresponding to explosion occurred in external of spherical tank is simulated and calculated, and the analysis of calculated results is carried out subsequently. The characteristic of the load applied on spherical tank and structural response including the spherical tank's deformation, damage, stress distribution , movement and so on is obtained.3.The situation corresponding to explosion occurred in internal of spherical tank is also calculated and analyzed, the characteristic of spherical tank's dynamic response is obtained correspondingly.4. By means of changing some relevant parameters in computation model, the influence of explosion's scale, impact azimuth and liquid storing condition to struc- tural response is studyed, which will be benifical for understanding the response of spherical liquid-storage tank to blast loading more comprehensively.
