Taking the Taiping landslide of Shuifu in the northeast of Yunnan province as the research object, this paper adopts the research method which combines geology antitype investigation research with geological processes analysis. By integrating field geological antitype investigation with lab analysis, engineering geology with rock mass mechanics, field test with lab experiment, modes analysis with modes research. The features, forming condition, formation mechanism, stability analysis and comprehensive treatment of landslides are systematiccally studied on the basis of previous research data and the field exploration. The research achievements obtained by this paper are as follows:①Based on the geological environment conditions and comparative study by applying exploration methods, such as borehole, tunnel exploration and geophysical prospecting, Taiping landslide has obvious "dual structure" characteristics and influenced by groundwater very hard. Engineering-geological condition analysis show that the overall landslide tended to basical stability at present, and the slip plane is not completely holing-through, but still in the state of overall creep slip and fall frequently in the front. In case of heavy rain, the landslide is still accelerating creep and may be a result of overall slide.②Through engineering-geological condition analysis, the genesis mechanism of Taiping landslide is slippage-tension fracture mode. During the forming process of the landslide, the features of the slope body's rock-soil and its geological structure condition were the fundamental reasons for the formation of it, while the rainfall directly caused it, and human engineering activities impacted on it significantly.③Through limit equilibrium method calculation, stability coefficient of Taiping landslide is 1.0701.083 under the natural condition, 0.9270.942 under the rainstorm condition, 0.9560.970 under the seismic condition, 0.8030.815 under rainstorm and seismic condition. The results show that Taiping landslide in a basically stable state under the natural condition; in a less stable or unstable state under rainstorm, earthquakes or their combination.④To utilize the FLAC3D program to perform numerical simulation, it indicates that compressive stress is the main principal stress of Taiping landslide under the natural condition, and plastic zone is only distributed in the edge of the location of tensile cracks of the landslide. There is no obvious posterior displacement of landslide, the phenomenon of locally unstable is just in the overhead of landslide. The results of their analysis are consistent comparative the calculation results and landslide geological field studies and engineering analysis. It indicates that the landslide model and parameter values are reasonable.⑤The engineering geological conditions of the landslide, landslide characteristics, formation mechanism and stability were considered. Through the scheme comparison and selection of prevent and cure method of Taiping landslide, the essay aim directly at the feature of the landslide and introduced effective measure of"anti-slide pile linked with retaining wall". Finally, the essay introduced the monitoring system which including surface displacement monitoring, deep displacement monitoring, rainfall and groundwater monitoring.
