Because the vibrations of a pipe system and its radiation sound field may affect the concealment, reliability and comfort of ships. To improve the work environment and the dependability of pipe systems abroad, it is important to understand the vibrations and sound radiation of pipe systems, when design them.Finite Element Method (FEM) and Boundary Element Method (BEM) and computer imitation are applied to analyze the radiation sound field considering the fluid-solid interaction of a pipe. Firstly, the normal displacement on the fluid-solid interface is calculated in MFX, which is a subroutine of ANSYS. Then the data of shell element and the normal displacement of the outer surface are drawn out and are set as the BEM model and its boundary conditions. From above analyzing, it finds that such factors as the thickness of the pipe, the time span of the valve closing and opening, the velocity, the characteristic of pipe clamp, influence the sound field, and provides optimum design method. At last, from the measurement of pipe vibration, it validate the correctness of the analyzing of coupling pipe by MFX. The study gives a convenient and effective way for reduce noise and optimum design of typical pipes in engineering.
