As two main navigation systems, GPS and INS navigation system has its obvious advantages and disadvantages of complementary, the combination of these two systems can not only overcome the problem of GPS navigation incompleteness, rapid accumulation of INS errors, but also provide users with high sampling rate, high reliable, parameter-rich navigation service. Therefore, GPS and INS combined technology product-POS become the research hotspot in many fields.POS is composed of Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and GPS devices, the calibration part of POS in this project is mainly aimed at the Inertial Measurement Unit, the calibration methods include initial alignment repeatability test, accuracy of tracking attitude angle calibration and static drift test; In the following with the use of GPS on certain aspect of POS, such as time synchronization precision of GPS and IMU. In view of there are little study on domestic POS systems from the perspective of mapping accuracy calibration, particularly IMU calibration standard has not yet formed mature technologies and methods in the mobile mapping system, this study is mainly about above POS accuracy calibration methods of domestic airborne POS.For further research on the performance of airborne POS and direct access to the accuracy of exterior orientation elements, we need to process the data that collected directly from POS experiments in the calibration field or experiments directly access to the actual flight and transfer them to the exterior orientation elements of the images, and angle corrections required. After making the necessary corrections we can use sophisticated methods to obtain the values of exterior orientation elements of comparison, the process is programmed by software in this paper.Finally, to obtain a set of data collected from experiments of POS-ground calibration in the actual field, processed them using the above calculation methods, and made the results accuracy assessment and analysis.
