Vegetation plays an important role in ecosystem. Its condition,to a great extent, reflected the situation of natural eco-environment. The vegetation index and land surface temperature are important parameters which describe the land surface process. They can characterize vegetation cover, land-atmosphere interactions and energy exchange characteristics. The coupling relationship in between is helpful to better understand and evaluate the changes of land surface process.Besides,it is also the forefront development direction of remote sensing and land surface process research.Changbai Mountains in Jilin Province are considered as the study area. Time series NDVI(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) and LST (Land Surface Temperature)data from 2000 to 2007 obtained from the MODIS were used as data sources. These temporal NDVI and standardized LST data were regressed and three parameters through regression analysis were calculated, namely, the angle between the regression line and the abscissa axis, the extent of the data projected on the regression line and the regression coefficient. Then the vegetation was classified and the vegetation change during the 8 years in the study area was analyzed. This paper provide basic data and basis for vegetation classification, dynamic monitoring of vegetation change and regional environmental protection .This article is divided into five chapters, the first chapter describes the progress of the NDVI-LST feature space and the purpose, meaning ,study ideas, framework of the paper. The second chapter introduces the natural environment of the Changbai Mountain area, data sources and processing. The third chapter, the vegetation of Changbai Mountains is classified by using the model of NDVI -LST.The fourth chapter analyzes the changes of the vegetation types and dynamic change range in Changbai Mountain area. The last chapter are Conclusion and Outlook.
