| The rock landslide in Liaoyang shimen silica ore exposed in the open air silicamines.The explorated silica mine was featured by a soft and hard alternated lithologylayer which was composed with sedimentary and metamorphic rocks. The study areawas characterized by a new block fractured consequent landslide with a slow dipangle and upper hard rocks as well as with soft lower rocks.The surface crackingdeformation was very obvious,that mainly appeared in layer of hard and blockquartzite. Deformation covered the four steps so that the relative height difference wasabout81m.Characteristics of the structural fractures which typically exposed payed animportant role in geological characteristics of engineering rock mass.Levels,jointfissures, large extension structure fractures, weak interlayers, fault and concentratedjoint band were widely developed in Shimen landslip.In this paper characteristics ofthe structural fractures were summareid as follows:(1) From the point of the genetic mechanism, it mainly included original,secondary and the tectonic discontinuities.The most representative original structurefractures was mainly located in the south steps and the bottom of the steps in the south,that the latter belong to weak interlayers within the thick quartzite.Secondary structuresurfaces were widely developed, including most of the weak interlayers that hadobvious deformation and mudded intercalation from extension structural fractures;Tectonic structure fractures consisted of three faults, evrey concentrated joint band,large extension joints,443group of joints and fissures observed outdoors, and so on.(2) The structural fractures had different scale grades except the grade â… of largeregional fault, varying from grade â…¡ to grade V.(3) It can be found from the characteristics of deformation and failure of thelandslide that the maximum crack width was nearly1m and the maximum settlementdifference was nearly2m.At the same time, the general direction of slip deformation of the landslide was also determined.(4) According to the mechanism of mechanics of structure surface,it can bedivided into steep dip tension structure fractures and decantation structurefractures,descripted the typical characteristics of the two structure fractures.According to the analysis of characteristics of the structure factures, the geneticmechanism of the landslide from Shimen mainly involved compressing cracking andslipping cracking.Moreover, it showed demarcation of443random preferential joint sets in sceneaccording to the four important factors of tendency, inclination, trace length and width,in order to make a better research on overall preferential characteristics of structuralfactures which reflected the actual spatial distribution characteristics. Furthermoredemarcation of preferential joint sets were realized through the method of thecompetitive neural network on the basis of matlab self-program, and the results werescientifically validated by the non-linear pattern recognition method, which alsoproved the feasibility of the method. |
