Demand for iron and steel in China is soaring with high economic increasein recent years. However, the limited iron ore resource exploitation has becomeone of the important bottlenecks of the healthy and rapid development of ourcountry's steel industry. Due to this supply short of demand situation, accelerating the iron mineral resources exploration in remote areas has becomeone of the urgent tasks.Subashi-Xiruo iron metallogenic belt is located in West Kunlun. Iron mine isin various types in this area, mainly distributed in the Proterozoic strata andexposed in the between of Kangxiwa fracture and Ta'axi fracture. The newly discovered large and medium iron ore exploration bases such asQiaopukalimo iron ore, Laobing iron ore,Giertiekegou iron ore etc. and a largenumber of ore occurrences like Taheman iron ore, Subashi iron ore and Ziluoyiiron ore make this area become an important iron ore metallogenic belt, whichhas a good prospect for mineral exploration. This research shows that:the ironore bed (point) exposed in Subashi-Xiruo iron metallogenic belt is in varies typesand has different ore-forming structures; Kalama Fe-Cu deposit and Qieliekeqimagnesite deposit are formed in marine deposit basin, and the ore-formingprocess may be in shore-neritic deposit area;volcanic rocks in Waqia area areprobably formed in continental margin island arc setting;Ziluoyi Fe (Cu) miningarea is formed in neritic facies or lacustrine facies, and its volcanic-sedimentaryformation is closely related to basic extrusive rocks.
