Coal energy consumption structure with an absolute advantage in possession of China, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides produced by coal-fired pollution control of become one of the most urgent tasks of governance. Many flue gas purification technology have been used in China such as wet-FGD, semi-dry FGD, dry-FGD, selective catalytic reduction denitrification, wet simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification technology, EBA and so on. These technologies only aim at some kind of pollutant, bringing the resources waste, high investment and operating cost. Therefore, researching flue gas purification technology which has a high efficiency and low cost, so multi-pollutant control technology is an important topic which the sustainable development faces. This article describes the development and application of microwave radiation carbon reduction technology at home and abroad. In this paper, surface area and pore structure testing was carried on activated carbon which was used, and elevation of temperature situation in the different microwave power of activated carbon was studied, systematic studied on activated carbon losse as well. The experimental study the impact of microwave irradiation power, activated carbon quality, flue gas flow rate, pollutant concentration and flue gas oxygen content, moisture content, carbon dioxide on desulfurization and denitrification efficiency. The results showed that the higher the microwave power, the greater the quality activated carbon, the lower the flue gas flow rate, the lower the pollutant concentration, the better desulfurization and denitrification efficiency are. At the same time, Experimental study of the catalyst in order to reduce the microwave power and improve the economics of technology, by comparing the activated carbon supported copper oxide, zinc oxide, manganese oxide catalyst for denitrification in three different efficiency, and ultimately determine the selection of optimal catalyst for the oxidation of copper. And copper oxide catalyst loading, the addition of the catalyst on the reaction temperature and other research. The results showed that after adding the catalyst denitrification efficiency enhances 10%. Also XRD analysis test was carried out to definite the chemical composition of the catalyst. Finally, the mechanism of desulfurization and denitrification using microwave irradiation over activated carbon is analyzed, including the adsorption mechanism, reduction mechanism and other non-thermal effects of microwave.
