The yield of fly ash is increasing dramatically with the rapid development of coal electricity industry, and the annual ash reservoir area is up to 82.37 thousand acres. Faced to the deterioration of environmental resource and the tensional situation of farmland resource, the ash field used in reclamation is an effective way to solve the problems of rasied dust pollution and taking up much land which caused by fly ash. At the same time, the reclaimed ash field can gain some economic benefits after meticulous management. Therefore, the project of ash field reclamation has great significance for building up a resource conservation and environmental friendly society. In this dissertation, the Old Luohe ash field, one part of Shangyao ash field in Huainan. Anhui Province, is the study area. Analysis the reclamation effect of reclaimed land filling with fly ash based on different covering thickness. Select indictors of soil moisture content, electrical conductivity. pH. organic matter, hydrolysable nitrogen, available phosphorus, available potassium, heavy metals and so on, to test the concentration in different layer of the soil samples with covering thickness of 30 cm,50 cm, and 60 cm. Build the effect relationship of covering thickness and planting by analyzing the preserving ability of nutrient elements; Build the effect relationship of covering thickness and environment by analyzing the comprehensive pollution of heavy metals and food security; Combining economic, environmental and social benefit indicators, use covering thickness to reflect the good or bad of reclamation effect. The results showed that:land with the covering thickness of 50 cm has the best ability to preserve the nutrient elements; land with the covering thickness of 30 cm is more serious in heavy metal pollution and has greater security risk if consume its crops in long term; The reclamation effect, from pros and cons is 30 cm>50 cm>60 cm. thus. 30 cm is the more suitable covering thickness. The assessment results of reclamation effect showed that the differences of economy are larger than environment. As we known, to maximize the economic benefit should be based on favorable environment, so in choosing 30 cm as the most suitable covering thickness should take measures to prevent soil pollution in the later management.
