The detonation properties of primary explosive BNCP were studied as follows:(1) The Cowan equation of state and thermodynamic parameters of cobalt were investigated. Accordingly, the detonation parameters of BNCP were calculated by VLW code. The coefficients of the JWL equation of state were fitted using the isentropic expansion data. Meanwhile, the applicability of VLW EOS in metal compounds explosives was tested by calculating another two kinds of explosives--DACP and tetraamminebis (3,5-Dinitro-1,2,4-Triazolato-N1) Copper (Ⅱ). The results were analyzed and compared with experimental results.(2) Detonation velocity of different charges of BNCP was tested by explosive logic circuit. The detonation velocity profiles of different charges were studied and the results show that the the detonatin velocity increases as the charge diameter increases. The critical diameter was also obtained by explosive logic circuit.(3) Flyer velocity driven by different small diameter charges was tested using DISAR. The velocity curves of the flyers were obtained.(4) Models of driving flyer process of different diameter charges and different density were founded. The process of driving flyer was simulated by adopting nonlinear dynamic programming of LS-DYNA and JWL equation of state. The numerical simulation results were in accordance with the experiments.
