Solvent extraction which can be separate and purify metal ions effectively has been widely applied in hydrometallurgy. And the microemulsions/reverse micelles form, develop, change and even disappear in the extraction process, following the change of the extraction aggregates. So, a series of controllable microemulsion systems can be provided by the extraction systems. However, different form the wide use of solvent extraction in hydrometallurgy, the application of the solvent extraction system in the preparation of the nano/micro materials has not been studied well. This work focused on the preparation of nano/micro materials with special morphology with the extraction system of P204. The preparation of Ce(MoO4)2 in microscale was also studied. We are sure that this work will provide experimental evidences for the combination of the studies on solvent extraction and the preparation of nano/micro-materials and be helpful to developing feasible way for the nanomaterial preparation on a large scale.Detailed contents are as follows:1. The CdS Nano/Microtrumpet was synthesized by two-phase solvothermal approach in the solvent extraction system. The CdS have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and UV-Vis spectrophotometer. According to the experimental results and analysis, a possible formation mechanism of the nano/microtrumpet CdS was proposed. It was found that triethanolamine plays an important role in the formation of the trumpet-like CdS.2. The Ce(MoO4)2 truncated octahedron nano/microstructure was prepared by hydrothermal approach. The XRD, SEM, and EDS were used to characterize the structure and morphology of the products. A possible formation mechanism of the truncated octahedron nano/micro structure was proposed by the experimental results and analysis. The investigation on the formation mechanism of Ce(MoO4)2 truncated octahedron nano/microstructure revealed that the effect of PVP on the process of the morphology evolution is significant.
