By selecting metal and organic ligands, the study of coordination compounds with viarous structures drived and guided self-assembly by coordination bonds, hydrogen bonds,π-πinteractions is a hot topic in the coordination chemistry research. Adopting sulfonic acids as organic ligand, we synthesized six coordination compounds:[Co(H2O)4(ps)2]n(1) [Cu(H2O)2(ps)2]n(2) [Pb(DPD)](phen)2·7H2O(3) [PbNa(phen)2(DPD)·(4H2O)]·5H2O(4) Pb4(H2O)2(DPD)2(NO3)2(phen)2·H2O(5) Pb(DDS)(phen)2·2H2O(6) from the reactions of sulfonic acids with transition metals and main group metal by hydrothermal, diffusion and solution methods. All six complexes have been characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, element analysis, infrared spectra. Some of the complexes have been measured by thermogravimetric analysis and fluorescence.Complex 1 and complex 2 are synthesized from the reactions of pyridine-3- sulfonic acid (H4ps) and transition metals(Co, Cu) by solution method. The reaction temperature, solvents, reaction time, ratio of organic ligand and metal salts are the same, different metal salts lead to two different complexes. A 3D supramolecular network is given birth by the extension of the coordinative moieties via hydrogen bonds. complexes 1 is formed 3D supramolecular net structure by hydrogen bonding. Complexes 2 exist two hydrogen bonds, one exist between the sulphonate oxygen atoms and the hydrogen of aqua ligands, another exist between the sulphonate oxygen atoms and hydrogen atoms located on the aromatic rings of ps- ligands groups, 2D layered structure connected into 3D supramolecular net structure. Complexes 3, 4 and 5 are synthesized by selecting 4,5-Dihydroxynaphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acid disodium salt (DPD) and Pb as ligands and metal center, respectively. 3 and 4 use diffusion method synthesis, and 5 use hydrothermal synthesis. Three compounds all contain auxiliary ligand 1,10-phenathroline (phen), but 3, 4, 5 are mono-nuclear, di-nuclear and tetra-nuclear complexes, respectively. Different structures of three complexes lead to different thermogravimetric behavior and fluorescence properties. Thus, we concluded that experiment methods and reaction conditions have great influence on the structure and properties of complexes. Complex 6 is obtained by selecting Diphenylamine-4,4′- disulphonic acid disodium salt(DDS) and Pb as ligands and metal center. Cooled at 0℃, we obtain single crystals of complex 6. X-ray diffraction analysis shows it is a complex with 1D chain. The thermogravimetric and fluorescence properties are researched.
