Comprehensive treatment and pollution prevention of sludge, aubiquitous and significant environmental issue in the world, is one of the biggest problems in municipal wastewater treatment. A variety of toxic and hazardous pollutants was concentrated in the sludge and will release to the soil and atmosphere environment. It was studied to wipe off all kinds of pollutant in sludge more effectively that feasibility analysis of agricultural;enrichment of heavy metals;the concentrations and fractions of Heavy metals in the earthworms before or after disposing sewage sludge;the effect of earthworm treatment on fertility of sewage sludge;the effect of applying earthworm-treated sewage sludge on the output and the Heavy metals concentrations of cabbage. This paper studied on Huainan sludge from the First Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant, the mainly study results as following:(1) Agricultural use of sludge of the First Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant in HuaiNan is feasible. (2)The earthworm has enrichment effect for copper and zinc in some concentration, but it has no effect for cadmium and lead. (3)Earthworm treatment could decreased the concentrations of exchangeable copper, cadmium, lead and zinc, and increased the concentrations of unavailability copper, cadmium, lead and zinc. (4) Earthworm-treated could accelerated the degradation of organic matter, changed the physicochemical characters and increased pH value of sewage sludge relatively.Meanwhile, earthworm treatment could increase thetransform of total nitrogen in sewage sludge, and as time went on, the concentration of organic matter and total nitrogen decreased, while the concentration of available nitrogen and available phosphor increased. Earthworm treatment had no remarkable effect on total potassium, total phosphor and available potassium in sewage sludge. (5) Earthworm-treated could increased the output and decreased the Heavy metals concentrations and improved the quality of cabbage.
