In recent year, more and more attention has been paid to special education, and deaf vocational education has been developing rapidly in all kinds of schools. Garment specialty, as a traditional subject suitable for the deaf's learning and career, has played an important role in deaf vocational education. Yet Fashion Design, a professional required course for garment specialty, has not been performed well and faces a lot of special questions in class teaching due to the deaf students' physiological and psychological features and the strongly professional content of the course. In order to solve those problems, the teaching method of educational games is highly advised as to an extent it can help make up for the deaf students'deficiency because of some of its features such as visual sensation, experience of theoretical environment and game-based teaching.Based on the analysis of the course of Fashion Design and the teaching method of educational games, the thesis makes a research on the design of educational games about Fashion Design, which is closely related to the special characteristics of the deaf students and the professional features of the course.Firstly, based on the literature review, the thesis elaborates the definitions related to the research and discovers the special features of both deaf students of vocational education and the course of Fashion Design. Then from the practice of the balance of education and entertainment in class, a research on the design of educational games has been conducted. The feasibility and advantages of the teaching method of educational games are explored in its application to the course of Fashion Design for deaf students of vocational education. Several problems are pointed out in the design of teaching and games. A classification and analysis on the existent educational games about Fashion Design have been provided as a reference. And the thesis focuses on the problem of how to achieve the teaching goals of the course of Fashion Design by the design of educational games and evolves a game-designing strategy. Finally, from the angel of game designing and based on the application of game-designing strategy, a designing framework of educational games has been completed for the course of Fashion Design for deaf students of vocational education.
