With the friction between materials and the saw blade, and the deformation of saw materials appearing, circular saw blade will generate a lot of cutting heat in the sawing process. Saw blade temperature can effectively affect thermal stress and dynamic stability, and these parameters have a direct relationship with the cutting quality. Combining with heat transfer theory, this paper analysis the factors that influence the distribution of temperature field and the means to control temperature, which is based on the saw blade temperature field tests by using infrared thermal imaging device to different working conditions and the different structures of the saw blade. Moreover, the article discusses the relationship between the cutting quality and temperature field, which could help to optimize the work state of saw blades, to improve the structure of circular saw blades and the cutting quality, and also provide a basic experimental data and theoretical basis for the next study. The main research content and conclusions are as follows:1. This paper describes the process of conduction heat transfer of the saw blade and the factors that affect convection heat transfer, which is based on a theory of thermal temperature variation mechanism of circular saw blades. According to the work state and shape of circular saw blades, the effect of heat radiation on the blade temperature can be ignored.2 The effect of rotating speed on the temperature distribution: When the rotating speed is 3000 r/min, temperature decreases rapidly from the edge of the saw to half of which is not clamped. Temperature in the area near the clamp hardly changes. When the rotating speed is 1000 r/min, temperature of teeth is higher than that in the edge of saw body. But the situation changes with the rotating speed increasing. So it is incorrect that temperature increases with the rotating speed.3 Measuring of different circular saw structure show that both radical slots and noise-damping slots can reduce the temperature effectively. The combination of the two is most effective. "Ear" noise-damping slot is best, "worm" and "snake" comes second and third. In the processing of circular saw, the more the number of teeth are, the lower the height of teeth. So temperature increases when saw rotates faster but is not directly proportional to the speed. When cutting different materials, the temperature distribution of combined saw is different.4 Measuring of surface roughness show that cutting quality increases with the decrease of the temperature. Saw with the "ear" noise-damping is fit to cut 12mm-thick MDF, however, it is not when "spoon" radical slot is added. When cutting 35mm-thick White Pine, the saw with circle end radical slot and "ear" noise-damping slot is not a good choice.
