Common punching has higher efficiency and lower-cost advantages, but the contour of workpiece surface quality is poorer; Fine blanking though can be get higher quality contour surface, but request the higher accuracy of mould and greater investment of equipment.To effectively solve the accuracy between ordinary blanking and fine blanking, appeared the plane blank pressing semi-fine-blanking.The plane blank pressing semi-fine-blanking is a semi-fine-blanking process between conventional blanking and v-ring fine-blanking, it is with characteristics that lower manufacture, use cost and higher quality parts, also has a broad market prospect. However, issues related to the current study of this process are not thorough, the process patterns and parameters of plane blank pressing semi-fine-blanking need to study in order to promote the application of this technology.In this paper, finite element simulation model of the plane blank pressing semi-fine-blanking was built based on understanding the mechanism of plane blank pressing semi-fine-blanking, the finite element analysis was did, the experimental mold was designed and manufactured, the physical experiments were did aimed to study the material forming mechanism of the plane blank pressing semi-fine-blanking process; the flow lines and the hardness distribution of the deformation surface; the flow pattern of deformation material; the BHF, anti-force, the plasticity, relative blanking clearance and other parameters effect on the forming process. Study was designed to solve the parameter optimization problem of the plane blank pressing semi-fine-blanking, and determine sheet metal applications range and thickness of the process. Finally, microscopic study on the cross section of plane blank pressing semi-fine-blanking was also did to show impact of process on the forming surface.With the finite element method for simulation and physical experiments, rules were derived: the plasticity of material, the relative gap and counter force blanking influenced the work piece surface quality greatly; and the blank holder force and counter force had a lower effect. When the same proportion of the surface brightness was obtained, the required BHF and counter force is related to the thickness of sheet metal and plasticity of material.The study results have engineering value to the actual industrial production.
