This paper is composed of two parts: the syntheses of four novel axial chiral ligands with C2 symmetry;the second part is syntheses of series of complexes with those ligands and the last is characterization of those ligands and complexes with NMR and X-diffraction pattern that we have synthesized. In this study, four novel axial chiral ligands with C2 symmetry were designed and synthesized. We use the R-BINOL as the starting material, first, two hydroxyl groups in 2,2'-position were protected with methyl iodide, then R-2, 2'-dimethoxy binaphthyl(2)was obtained; In the second step,we had an organic metal reaction process through reacting (2) with N-butyl lithium and bromine in order to introduce two bromos in its 3,3'-positions and succeeded in getting a quite active intermediate (3)which could react with other materials in the next step; soon afterwards, there were a class of Suzuki coupling reactions catalyzed by the catalyst Pd(PPh3)4 to react with 4-pyridine boronic acid to get L1 (4),similarly, to react with methyl 4-boronobenzoate and the crude product to be hydrolyzed immediately then L1' (5)to be obtained;at last, two ligands we have obtained were dehydroxylated by boron tribromide under the condition of anhydrous and anaerobic, another two ligands(7)and(11) were then obtained. At the moment, all the work to synthesize chrial ligands has been completed. The next part is the syntheses and characterizations of the corresponding complexes. In this study, transition metal and rare earth ions were uesd for syntheses and building several target complexes,So far we have obtained a total of three new complexes with identified structures by X-crystal diffraction, certain informations of their structures and properties can be used for further studies in the next.
