Organic Sulfur Removal From High Sulfur Coal By Extraction

Coal is China's primary energy, and it will play an important role for a long time in the future. There are many forms of sulfur,mainly pyr-ite sulfur,organic sulfur and sulfate sulfur[5]in coal. A lot of coal is utilized directly and much sulfur dioxide be let out to environment,so it is important significance to develop cleaning coal technology。In this paper,the desulphurization of organic sulfur was studied by using the method of solvent extraction. The methods of desulfurization can be roughly divided into physical desulfurization and chemical desulfurization,but physical desulfurization cannot remove or- ganic sulfur, chemical methods must need strict condition, therefore, the solvent extraction method of mild conditions and cheap has important value to be researched.The experiment is made up of three parts.Firstly ,organic sulfur is extracted from coal by using a variety of solvent in the same condition and choose appropriate solvent to proceed to next test.In part two,organic sulfur is extracted from coal through the selected solvent, and the effect of treating conditions including the concentration of coal,microwave,extraction time and temperature was studied on the rate of desulphurization.Part three,the different rate of composite extraction solvent was investigated on the rate of desulphurization,and the method of solvent extraction desulphurization was analysed completely. We have the conclusion that the desulfurization rate of coal with PCE and m-cresol as extractant are 39.8%,48.2% respectively, the desulfurization rate of coal with PCE and m-cresol as extractant aided by microwave increased 17% and 8% respectively,the desulfurization rate of coal with complex solvent(1:1) is 62.7%, the desulfurization rate of coal with complex solvent aided by microwave is 67.1%.The desulphurization of solvent extraction is a kind of very potential cleaning coal method.In this paper,the method was studied basally by some experiments to draw general rules. This method with mild conditions,simple operation,low prices and simplify the process,providing a theoretical support for industrialization.
