This paper analyzes the main composition and function of self-protection hard-facing flux cored wire, summarize the technological performance test and mechanical test results .We study on martensitic stainless steel cored wires and do experiments to find out the way to make it has a good welding technological performance as well as wear resistance performance.The best mineral composition was: 12% ~ 14% rutile, fluoride 6 %~10 %,femploy magnesia 3 %~5% , zircon sand 3%~5% and potash feldspar 0~6%. The results show that the influence law of mineral composition on the processing property was as follows:The stability of welding arc get better when the content of rutile and potash increased,and it gets worse when fluorite increase. When the ratio of rutile content and fluorid content is smaller than 3 and larger than 1 , the Stability of the Welding Arc is good.The effect of fused magnesia on molten slag is focus on coverage performance,while zirconate is focus on detachability.Experiments of droplet collection show that: to ensure that the transitional form of the droplet is small particles transition, the ratio of the content of the acid oxides and basic oxides must between 4 and 7 .Discussed the influence of Mo, V, Ti on the microstructure and wear resistance according to experiments,then figure out the best element content. The results showed that, when the content of Cr was range from 10%~14% , ferromolybdenum 4%~8%, ferrovanadium 4%~12%, ferrotitanium 0%~4%, the surfacing layer had better wear resistance.The abrasion resistance of surfacing metal was improved when the content of Mo,V,Ti increased. When the mass percentage of alloy element is between 0~8%,V was most favorable to the improvement of wear resistance , and when within 8~12%, it was Ti .The hardness of the surfacing metal was improved when the content of Mo,V,Ti increased.V had the biggest impact on hardness, Ti second, and Mo the least .A appreciable ratio of Ti and V has an amazing effect on the hardness and wear resistance of surfacing metal.
