Conductor roller has a wide use in the production lines of electrogalvanizing and electrotinning, and its two important roles are deliver steel plate and conduct cathode current. Conductor rollers used in Baosteel electrogalvanizing unit are stainless steel with Hastalloys cladding. These rollers are very expensive through import and hard to repair. To overcome these defects, this paper achieved electrodeposited Ni-P alloys to replace Hastalloys used on conductor rollers.This paper studied technological parameters'influence on deposition efficiency, the composition of coatings, corrosion resistance, and achieved the best plating technology: NiSO4?6H2O (240 g/L) , NiCl2·6H2O (45 g/L), H3PO3 (030 g/L), H3BO3 (30 g/L), temperature (70℃),pH (12), current density (5A/dm2) . According to the roller's using condition, how P content of Ni-P alloys affect its feature, structure, hardness, corrosion resistance and the heat treatment performance of alloys with high P content were investigated, then compared with Hastalloys.By the researches taken above, with P content increasing in Ni-P alloys, its hardness firstly rose, and then dropped, and its corrosion resistance enhanced. Ni-P alloy with P content above 10% in weight has an amorphous structure with smooth surface, high hardness, and superior corrosion resistance. Ni-P alloy after 200℃ ×2h heat treatment, its performances changed slightly. After 400℃×2h heat treatment, its structure turned into crystal with hardness remarkably increased and corrosion resistance lose seriously.This paper gained Ni-P alloy with excellent performance using simple technology. The alloy has much higher hardness and slight lower corrosion resistance and these performances can essentially fit the using conditions of conductor roller. So, this Ni-P alloy can be used on conductor rollers to replace Hastalloys, and try out on the production line.
