The amorphous alloy has extremely high strength, high hardness and excellentanti-corrosion and anti-wearing properties, and is also characterized in good softmagnetism, superconductivity and low magnetic loss, therefore it is good with greatpotential for technical application in electronic, mechanical and chemical industries, moreover its application scope will be continuously expanded with the theoreticalresearch. This work investigated fatigue properties of Zr41Ti14Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5bulk amorphousalloy by means of tension-tension fatigue test and three-point bending fatigue test, and theimpact property of the bulk amorphous alloy was also investigated.Zr41Ti14Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5bulk amorphous alloy was prepared by using the technologyof combing non-consumable arc melting and copper mold casting. Fatigue and impactsamples were processed from the alloy. The relaxation state and crystallization state alloyswere obtained by annealing the alloy at different temperatures. Besides the fatigue andimpact tests, fracture appearance analysis of the sample was done to further research thefatigue and impact properties of the bulk amorphous alloy. Differential scanningcalorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction method (XRD), scanning electron micro analyzing(SEM) and hardness, tensile mechanical properties test were applied to characterize theamorphous alloy. The fatigue test results show that the fatigue limit of Zr41Ti14Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5bulkamorphous alloy is712.5MPa in the tension-tension fatigue test with the stress ratio of0.1and frequency of30HZ. Microstructure defects have a great influence on fatigueresistance. During the three-point bending fatigue test, as the Zr41Ti14Cu12.5Ni10Be22.5bulkamorphous alloy has some casting defects of tiny holes and impurities etc, which havegreat influence on the fatigue property, even the stress is as low as400MPa, it still cannotreach the specified circulation times. The fracture appearance, initiation mechanism andits propagation of fracture crack, cyclic softening and cyclic hardening of the alloy wasanalyzed. The impact test shows that the impact properties of the bulk amorphous alloy inas-cast state are superior to those in relaxation and crystallization states.
