| Reducing and Sizing mill is the key equipment to the modern high-speed wire lineand plays an important role in the production. If the RSM failure resulting in the linestopped, it will directly affect the economic efficiency of enterprises. The RSM conditionmoitoring and diagnosis system is researched to ensure stable operation of line, reducemaintenance costs, and improve the level of fault diagnosis on RSM, to achieve thereal-time condition monitoring.The paper detailed analyzed the working status of RSM according to its structure andtransmission principle. The hardware constitution and sysytem structure based on PXItechnology have been researched, including the selection of sensors, PXI chassis,controllers and I/O modules. Then the paper analyzed the failure modes and spectrumcharacteristics of the bearings, gears, shaft, and the vibration analysis on the time domain,frequency domain, time-frequency. A method of cepstrum analysis and a method ofwavelet-cepstrum analysis have been proposed. The former can effectively extract gearfault frequencies of RSM, and the latter can effectively extract the bearing fault frequency,which is obviously superior to the FFT in feature extraction and noise reduction andespecially suitable for detecting weak fault signal. Field-proven, the gear tooth surfacepitting failure and bearing failure were successfully diagnosed using these two methods.Based on the above theory, the software implementation method has beensystematically studied on virtual instrument development platform, and then the paperdeveloped a set of condition monitoring and fault diagnosis system. Through six-monthrunning and testing, it verified the feasibility and practicality of the system. |
