The slaughterhouse wastewater is a typical wastewater containing high concentrations of organic pollutant, its emission is increasing significantly with the rapid development of slaughtering and meat processing industries. Such wastewater must be treated timely and effectively, if not the effect on the whole water environment of our nation would be terribly bad. This paper is mainly designed to study the debugging process of the slaughterhouse wastewater treatment project of Suihua Popular Meat Packing Company, and deeply analyses the processing efficiency of Hydrolytic Acidification-Biofilm Anaerobic/Oxic (HA-BA/O) which had been applied to this project. After the analysis, the reliable recommend parameters will be found out to make the designing, constructing and operating of such project more and more efficient. In this paper, the development of domestic slaughtering industry was briefly introduced at the beginning, including source and characteristics of slaughterhouse wastewater. Then, the development of slaughterhouse wastewater treatment technologies were summarized, among which the mechanism and characteristics of HA-BA/O process applied to this project were introduced. Also designing materials and process flow of the whole project were described. What's more, sludge culture of HA-BA/O process during the starting stage was illustrated. Concerning pollutants removal effect of the above two processes, influence factors were studied during the debugging stage. Meanwhile, solution of abnormal phenomena on sludge during starting stage was proposed. In addition, based on analysis of influence factors, optimizing operation parameters were put forward. At last, linkage treatment effect of the HA-BA/O process was investigated and overall operation cost was analyzed. The result showed that arming at slaughterhouse wastewater, HA-BA/O technology was feasible. Under optimized condition of hydrolytic acidification process (HRT=10.511.5h, SV30=2025%, temperature above 20℃), COD removal efficiency kept stable around 13% and almost all TN transformed to NH4+-N. Hence, COD removal ability of hydrolytic acidification process was limited, but biodegradability was greatly improved. Because of high NH4+-N transformation, hydrolytic acidification used as A/O pretreatment process was appropriate. Under optimized condition of A/O process (Do=2.02.4mg/L,SV30=4050%), COD and NH4+-N removal efficiency kept at 8491% and above 98% respectively. It was also suggested that HRT and temperature factors had less effect on pollutants removal. Meanwhile, A/O process had the excellent ability of shock resistance, self-repair and regeneration. In sum, when influent COD was between 800mg/L and 1500mg/L, COD removal efficiency was above 95% and the concentration of NH4+-N was below 0.4mg/L for the whole treatment processes. Therefore, due to the advantages of high effluent quality, less land occupation, easy operation and low cost, HA-BA/O process was suitable for the treatment slaughterhouse wastewater which contains medium-high concentration organic.
