Because of its superior physical and mechanical properties, fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composite has been widely used in modern industry, national defense, aviation and aerospace and so on. Because fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composite is considered to be difficult-to-machine material, its machining especially forming machining is very difficult. In the processing, it is very easy to produce matrix fragmentation, delamination, fiber pullout, fiber-matrix debonding and other defects. How to improve the processing quality is a difficult problem. In this article, grinding experimental study of fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composite was conducted focus on grinding mechanism, surface forming and surface damage. It is found that grinding mechanism and surface morphology are mainly dependent on the relationship between grinding direction and fiber orientation. The influence of grinding parameters and different grinding direction on grinding forces was researched.Through the acoustic emission on-line monitoring system, acoustic emission signal in the grinding process was acquired. The relationship between acoustic emission signal parameters and grinding machining parameters was analyzed. Using wavelet analysis method combining with support vector machine (SVM) technology can be a very good for monitoring the different wear state of grinding wheel. In this paper researches on the grinding technology of fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composite and wheel wear state detection techniques in the process of grinding have a good guidance function.
