Comparing with traditional natural stress relief (NSR) and temperature stress relief (TSR), vibration stress relief (VSR), which is still a new developing technology, has a lot of advantages such as shorter processing cycle, less energy consumption, easier operation and so on. It is more suitable for big components than traditional stress relief. However, as the current research on mechanism and Device of this technology is not mature until now, VSR has not received large-scale promotion and application. So the research and development on VSR technology has big practical value and good application prospect.In this paper, the mechanism of VSR is analyzed and researched based on understanding the reason of residual stress generation and the way of how to eliminate it; the working principle and design method of the magnetostriction transducer have been studied; a set of high-frequency VSR equipment used for eliminating residual stress has been successfully developed.The equipment includes three parts:vibrator, amplitude transformer, power supply. After understanding the magnetostrictive effect of material, the state equation and equivalent diagrams of transformer type transducer are derived, and the vibrator which can generate ultrasonic vibration has also been developed. Based on the analysis according to different shapes of amplitude transformer, the step-like amplitude transformer smooth transition by conical is selected to realize amplitude amplification. Then design its dimension and prove the rationality by modal analysis and harmonic response analysis using ANSYS. Power supply designed in this paper is composed of rectification circuit, power amplification circuit and matching circuit and it's main role is to provide alternating current to vibrator and make whole system's output power maximum by commissioning and optimization.Finally, the experimental study and quantitative analysis proved that the set designed in this paper can relief residual stress effectively.
