It has researched the dry process of bronze powder preparation technology by horizontal high-energy mixing milling in this paper. Domestic and foreign development trend and status of bronze powder are described. Existing process of bronze powder, the technology and equipment of metal powder process are expounded in the paper. The fineness, bulk density and water coverage are as the stand of macro evaluate. The microstructure of the powder was studied with SEM. EDAX and XPS have been used to analysis the elements and state changes of the powder surface. It also used XRD to research the influence of alloy powders after HEM. The main work is the process of bronze powder technology by horizontal high-energy mixing milling. The single and compound additives, the anti-oxidation ability of bronze powder coating also be researched in the paper.The material of grinding ball, size options, main additives stearic acid, grinding atmosphere, milling speed and milling time of the preparation process were employed to confirm the best parameter of the preparation process. There no obvious changes found on phase of the powder after milling. The percentage content of metal oxide decreased after milling. The milling process declined the segregation of raw powder makes the powder surface composition to the alloy composition.The additives can produce a layer on the powder surface during milling. And the layer can protect the powder from oxidation. In the research of single additive, water coverage of the powder used stearic acid, aluminum stearate, palmitic acid, polyvinyl alcohol and SDBS was small. They are not good. The composite additives can help to improve the shortcomings of single additives. It makes the water coverage significantly increased. And it also can improve the milling and the performance of the powders. The orthogonal test also was carried out to research the best composition of the compound additives.The best milling process is:2kg bearing steal milling ball withΦ5mm, the ball to powder ratio of 10:1, milling atmosphere of N2, milling speed of 1000/800rpm, milling time of 120 min, stearic acid amount of 1.2%, palmitic acid amount of 0.3%, SDBS amount of 0.1%. The products'fineness D50 is 9.95um, bulk density is 0.924g/cm3, water coverage is 4936.31cm2/g.
