Heavy use of chemicals in textile industry is an important reason causing human and environment hazards. A variety of dyes and surfactants are used in the process of textile manufacture, which will be a potential threat to human health if they are left on clothing. With more and more concern on textile safety and higher requirements for health by customers, ecological textile attracts more attention at home and abroad.According to a comparative study of textile standard systems at home and abroad, the paper estimates that China lacks deep research on toxicity chemicals of textile, and the textile standards of China need to be improved. Through a comparative analysis of database resources in and out of China, the paper points out that the shortage situation of toxicological resources on textile chemicals. Our project would compensate the blank in this field, lay the foundation in terms of starting the study on textile toxicology, provide right direction for manufactures, assure textile safety and improve national ability in marketing competition. The subject has investigated chemicals in the whole manufacture process of wool textile, classified and summarized commonly used chemicals in wool industry according to their application and function. According to current chemical toxicity study, the article provides basic ideas and framework for the establishment of wool industry chemical toxicological database. On the foundation of manufacture process and chemical category, the database collects information on chemical basic information, physic-chemical properties, stability and reactivity, hazardous characteristics, toxicology information and reasons, environmental toxicity, exposure protection, emergency response, storage management and transportation, fire protection, waste disposal for each chemical. The database is built by windows style, with directory tree structure management and mixed-index algorithm, which can provide four different kinds of ways for searching, which are Chinese andEnglish name query, CAS number query, process query and category query. The article proposes advice on toxicity classification on the perspective of chemical safety, points out the importance of structure- activity relationship in replacement of high toxicity chemicals and database construction. On the basic results, we'll finally merging it into the first toxicological database on chemicals for wool textile, which can be highly individualized, well comprehensive and structural and practical on use.
