China is a country of water scarcity, whose per capita possession of water resources is only a quarter of the world's average, and is quite uneven at spatial and temporal distribution, many regions and cities lack water. As the population expansion and the rapid development of industry the water was severely polluted. Prevent water pollution and govern sewage effectively has become a serious problem that needs people to solve urgently.More than 80 percent of the existing urban sewage treatment plant in China using air aeration activated sludge, which cost high, cover large area, impact load intolerance, has high energy consumption and surplus sludge output. Pure oxygen aeration, which uses pure oxygen instead of air, is more and more concerned by people. To apply pure oxygen aeration technology in aerobic biological treatment of sewage has advantages of high active sludge concentration and volume load, short residence time.Based on Jimo sewage treatment plant expansion projects, this paper studied pure oxygen aeration A/A/O sewage treatment process. Designed the structures of water points inverted A/A/O process and the computer monitor system. Compared the operation results of pure oxygen aeration and air aeration. Through the water quality monitoring analysis and impact resistance load experiment, the removal rate of COD, NH3-N, TP and SS of pure oxygen aeration process was higher than air aeration process. The effluent COD and NH3-N of pure oxygen aeration system is still lower than the national sewage discharge standards, when the inflow water fluctuates in the scope of 20000m3/d to 40000m3/d, or the inflow COD and NH3-N is about 1.5 times of normal concentration. The Impact resistant ability is obviously increases.At the same time, blowers are not being used when use I-SOTM oxygen aeration device of Praxair, which greatly reduced energy consumption, eliminate the noise pollution. Pure oxygen aeration will be more and more wide applied as the maturity of pure oxygen aeration technology and the reduction of the cost of producing oxygen.
