Study On Effect Of An Innovation Acylamino Nucleating Agent On The Crystallization Behavior Of Polypropylene

The nucleating agent is one of common additives to improve the physical and mechanical properties of PP. In this work, an innovation nucleating agent D1 with acylamino group was synthesized and characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectrometer(FT-IR),Mass spectra (MS),Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and Polarization optical microscope with a hot-stage (POM). The BDP composed of PP and D1 was prepared in HAAKE Rotational Remoter. The nonisothermal crystallization behavior, crystal morphology, etched surface morphology, and the crystal types were characterized by DSC, POM, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Wide angle X-ray diffraction (WXRD), respectively. The comparing of crystal types of BDP with PP revealed that the formation ofβcrystal can be induced by nucleating agent D1. The research work of this study has been listed as follows:(1)An innovation nucleating agent D1 with acylamino group was designed, synthesized and characterized by DSC. It was found that the melting point, clearing point and crystal point of the nucleating agent D1 was 220.9℃,234.8℃and 204.3℃,respectively.(2) The compound of nucleating agent D1 and PP,named as BDP, was mixed in HAAKE Rotational Rheometer BDP was prepared by. The crystal behavior of BDP was investigated by POM. When the BDP was cooled, nucleating agent D1 firstly crystallized to needle-like crystals and then induced the formation of PP transcrystalline on its surface.(3) The needle-like nucleating agent D1 was apt to assemble in PP matrix, so the transcrystalline of PP looked like assembly, according to the etched surface of crystallized BDP was characterized by SEM.(4) The formation ofβcrystal can be induced by nucleating agent D1 when BDP crystallized to needle-like crystals, according to the results of the crystal types of BDP by WXRD.
