The suck-rod pumping system was the only solution that used in The Second OIL PRODUCTION FACTORY of CHANGQING OILFIELD. The regular production of the wells was influenced by the frequent failure of the suck-rod. Through the investigation of suck-rod-failure and complete sets of technology, the Yue29 block and Hua152 block were chosen as the focus of control. Based on the stress and stability analysis and laboratory study, and combining with field data, three major factors which affect suck-rod-failure are rod fatigue, mechanical wear and wellbore corrosion. The control idea and technical measurement were determined. Five major technologies to prevent suck-rod-failure were formed which are pumping parameter optimization, suck-rod string combination optimization, multifunction beam hanger, layered production through packers, and anti-corrosion rod. Suck-rod-failure declined by 44 wells and made a good economic benefit after the measurement was taken. By the control measurement that was taken in Yue29 block and Hual52 block, the prevention technology of suck-rod-failure was improved and can be applied to other blocks of the The Second OIL PRODUCTION FACTORY of CHANGQING OILFIELD.
