In this study, two reservoirs for drinking water supply, Hedi and Dashuiqiao in Zhanjiang, Guangdong Province were studied . It were analysed the sediment of total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and heavy metals. Meanwhile the relationship between the tow reservoirs of the indicators and algae content were investigated. Reservoir management measures will be improved. The sediment phosphorus content of Hedi Reservoir at different depths range was 0.208 to 0 .625 mg/g, and the total nitrogen content was 1.002 to 2.33 mg/g. Potential ecological risk of heavy metals in sediment RI is 498.753. The result of Potential eological risk assessment indicated that the contamination of the surface sediments in Hedi reservoir is relatively heavy, and the Cd, Hg pollution is more serious.. The total nitrogen in each season belonged to the forth-level of water quality in the chinese national standard for surface water, Total phosphorus was between the second level and three level. Algae abundance was positively correlated with chlorophyll. The ratio of nitrogen to phosphorus was 27:1-160:1. Total nitrogen, the ratio of nitrogen to phosphorus was positive correlation with chlorophyll. The correlation between them was relatively weak. The total nitrogen, total phosphorus and the ratio of nitrogen to phosphorus were stronglyand significantly correlated (p <0.01).The sediment phosphorus content of Dashuiqiao reservoir at different depths range was 0.364 to 0 .542 mg/g, and the total nitrogen content was 1.002 to 2.33 mg/g. Potential ecological risk of heavy metals in sediment RI is 475.124. The result of Potential ecological risk assessment indicated that the contamination of the surface sediments in Dashuiqiao reservoir is relatively heavy, and the Cd, Hg pollution is more serious. The total nitrogen and phosphorus of each season belonged to the fourth-level of water quality. Algal abundance was positively correlated with chlorophyll. Ratio of nitrogen and phosphorus was 9:1-151:1 (p <0.01).This study researched two large- reservoir of Zhanjiang aimed at exploring a strategy of environmental management of water resources. We must pay attention to external source pollution, reduce the loading, enhance reservoir management, meanwhile, try to establish a reasonable water planning and water supply systems optimization.
