With the rapid development of economic and expansion of production, the quality and precision of steel are demanded by customers higher and higher, and some sheet and tube must be straightened to reach the requirements of users. Straightening quality has become the important standard to measure product competitiveness. Roll straightener is a kind of straightening machine which is currently the most widely used and owns the most perfect straightening technology. For roll straightener, the deformation of workpiece is controlled by reduction. Reduction determines the degree of elastic-plastic deformation of the workpiece and is the important technology parameters of straightening process. Therefore, the research for reduction rules of roll straightener has an important significance practically.In the paper, analyzed elastic-plastic bending deformation theory, expounded the process of elastic-plastic deformation and relationship between bending deformation and curvature. By analyzing different section form, established the relationship between bending moment and curvature ratio. According to straightening principle, established bending mathematical model of different section form.In order to set the reduction scientific and make the reasonable reduction rules, two kinds of straightening scheme were analyzed including the scheme of large deformation and small deformation straightening. For different straightening program, calculated bending deflection and the scientific calculation on reduction was given the process about theoretical analysis. According to the analysis of the practical examples, verified the feasibility of application software.The paper based on the straightening principle of large deformation and small deformation, developed the application software of reduction rules and introduced the function of software as well as application in making reduction rules. The article also solved the inaccuracy which men set the reduction, and have certain reference significance for the automation control.
