Hollow fiber contactor is an equipment used in the mass transfer of two phases, with the advantages of large surface area, high efficiency, easy operation, etc. The structure of hollow fiber contactor and performance of hollow fiber play an important role in the mass transfer process. In this work, penicillin G-DOA- Na2CO3 is chosen as the experimental system, to investigate the membrane swelling, membrane fouling, membrane length, contactor diameter, packing factor, penicillin concentration in the stripping phase, operation mode on the mass transfer of hollow fiber renewal liquid membrane (HFRLM).It proved that the swelling can reduce the membrane pore, increase the membrane length, which can increase the resistance of membrane and reduce the mass transfer coefficient. The membrane fouling have little effect to the mass transfer of the system we investigate. As the increase of contactor length, the mass transfer flux decreases. As the increase of contactor diameter, the mass transfer performance first increase and then decrease. As the increase of packing fraction, the mass transfer flux decreases. The penicillin G concentration in the stripping phase and the concurrent and countercurrent operation have slight influence of HFRLM process. The mass transfer coefficient of series operation is lower than the single one.We also investigate the nonideal flow in the shell side of the contactor. The result showed that the nonideal flow of shell side increased as the increase of velocity and packing factor. According to the experimental data, the axial diffusion coefficient was introduced to the mass transfer model, the accuracy of the transfer model is verified.Base on the cycling experiments, the extraction rate of penicillin G is investigated. The results proved that, the velocity of tube side has little influence to the extraction rate. The extraction rate is large with 0.2mol/L KH2PO4 as the feed buffer solution and 0.5mol/L Na2CO3+1.0mol/L NaHCO3 as the stripping buffer solution.
