Cementing is one of the most crucial part in the process of drilling engineering. Not only the investment is great, but also the quality of the cementing has a direct impact on the life and production of the oil and gas well. In the course of cementing operation, it is very important to monitor the cementing slurry density in the cementing concrete truck. The deviation of the cementing slurry density directly affects its performance, eventually affecting the cementing quality. The purpose of this paper is to study and implementation a intelligent method to control the cementing slurry density in the process of cementing. This has a very important significance for improving the cementing quality.SOPC (System on Programmable Chip), or a single - chip computer system based on FPGA (Field Programable Gate Array), is proposed by Altera Corporation, which is a flexible and efficient solution of SOC (System on Chip). Embedded processor system, memory and peripheral interface system are implemented in a single FPGA, making the designed circuit system most optimized in scale, reliability, function, product maintenance, hardware promotion and other aspects. This article uses the flexibility and programmability of SOPC combined with the expert intelligent PID algorithm to studying the intelligent method to control the cementing slurry density in the process of cementing. Choose the low cost series FPGA Cyclone II of Altera Corporation, embedding Nios II soft core as the kernel processor. Using FPGA, circuit design is simplified, the reliability and stability of the system is improved, and making the system has strong scalability and easier to upgrad. This system use computer to simulatly real-time monitoring the density of cementing slurry in cementing process. The results indicate that the cementing slurry density intellingent control method is stable and reliable, and meets the design requirements. The successful design of this method play an important role to improve the cementing quality, and has a broad prospect.
